Doh! Well, now I know! Thanks for the fix John.

  • Thank you Ty, David, Brian and Richard for your replies. I was in PA for a wedding this weekend which is why I’m only now responding. So I understand almost all of of the advice I’ve been given. The only thing I’m scratching my noggin at is connecting the mixing console output to the camera XLR input. I know it should be a simple task, but I’m sitting here with dozens of cables trying to brainstorm how to connect this thing. Here’s the exact model of my console: https://www.alesis.com/multimix8usb

I’m wondering if I need to buy a special cable or certain kind of adapter.

  • Hey Alex,

Thanks for the quick reply to my post. I had to crop my initial picture since it was messing with the browser window after embedding. But here’s another picture that shows the files on my comp. As you can see, there are two solid layers underneath the text, which the white layer on top.

Actually, in typing this thread (and through trial and error from Alex’s post), I figured it out. I simply forgot to import the solids associaited with the comp when I imported the comp using the dynamic link function. Seems to be working fine now.

  • Forgot to include pic. Here it is.

Thank you both, Ted and Simon, for the replies! Your suggestions were spot on. I also really liked the Volumetric Lights Video Tutorial. Take care.

Thanks for your explanation. It helps to wrap my brain around the whole frame rate thing.

I was doing some trial and error with your suggestions and found that using the H.264 Format was causing some of the problem. I tried exporting as a QuickTime format with a H.264 codec. The video seemed much smoother once I did this. The only problem now is that I don’t get as many vibrant colors… looks like I need to do a little more trial and error..

    Thanks again for the help.

  • I’ll try this and get back to you.
