Dynamic link w/ AE – No background color in Premiere
Hello everyone,
I’m hoping this is just something small that I’ve overlooked , but here goes: I recently installed CS5 on my work machine. Everything is working fine so far. The only issue I’ve coming accross is when I try to import an AE composition in Premiere. The comp seems to lose it’s background color. This happens with the default comp background color, as well as with colored solids added in. See the picture below to get an idea of what I’m talking about. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a bunch.

Hey Martin…
Just setting the Comp background color in AE doesn’t mean it’s not transparent.
1) Either add a Solid behind the text in AE (can’t tell from your pic if there is one)
or
2) Add a color matte on the layer beneath the dynmaic linked clip in in PPro.Alex

Thanks for the quick reply to my post. I had to crop my initial picture since it was messing with the browser window after embedding. But here’s another picture that shows the files on my comp. As you can see, there are two solid layers underneath the text, which the white layer on top.
Actually, in typing this thread (and through trial and error from Alex’s post), I figured it out. I simply forgot to import the solids associaited with the comp when I imported the comp using the dynamic link function. Seems to be working fine now.
