  • PPro CS4 en RED footage natively: preview not working

    Hello,

I’m on Macbook Pro 3,06 4GIG Ram Snow Leopard 10.6.1. I shot on RED cam using 120fps at 2K 2:1. My project is set at this resolution. PPro plays back RED footage natively (what a luxury if you compare to FCP workflow!).

Still having problems with 1 aspect: when work area bar is red (after for example scaling of a videoclip), i press enter. The “Unknown Error: Can’t Compile Movie” comes up.

I checked project settings, and I can’t change the preview codec ‘I-frame MPEG’. I’m sure it has to do something with this. Changing scratch disks location didn’t work. Checking PPro Wiki, googled. Didn’t find anything.

If I start a project in DVpal settings, import the RED footage and preview, everything is fine (The preview codec is DVpal here, not I-frame MPEG).

    Any thoughts on this?

Thank you all for your wonderful input, I have solved already tons of issues just by surfing the Cow, but this one, didn’t find yet here in the Cow.

    Ken

(PS: should I place this in RED forum also?)
