I was hoping to find someone else with a similar problem, but so far, no such luck.

Basically, I’m trying to export my video in Quicktime format. The only problem is that I don’t see the option when I click the “Format” dropdown box in the export setting window. I have a feeling that it may have something to do with my new computer and Windows 7 Home edition, since it used to work on my older Dell running XP professional. Here’s a quick run-down of my specs:

    • Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 v4.2
    • Dell XPS 8100 w/ i7 870 process & 8 gigs of RAM
    • Windows 7 Home Edition
    • 64-bit operating system
    • I do have quicktime currently installed

Here’s a screen shot of what I’m seeing.

Any advice would be welcome. Thanks!

It would appear the QuickTime install took place after the adobe premiere pro install. It states in the installation req that QT Needs to be installed before installing premiere pro. Be sure it’s the req version of QT also. Uninstall/Reinstall QT as req or above version. Then uninstall ppro and after effects only. Reboot. Install ppro and ae only. Whallah.

    Marty,

Sounds like you had an installation issue. If you go to:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS4\MediaIO\codecs

Do you see QTVideoCodec.vca and QTAudioCodec.vca files?

Try reinstalling Quicktime, if that doesn’t work, I would remove the Adobe suite and reinstall.

Thank you both, Jon and Vince, for the advice. I reinstalled the software liked you said and it worked like a charm!

    Thanks again, take care.
