Dave LaRonde: You need to conform the footage to 29.97.

How can one convert the format using the lastest version of compressor, or adobe media encoder, or quicktime pro?

i know what u mean by drop zones. what im referring to and you can see them in DVDSP or in Apple Motion. Here is a link it might help understand: https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/advanced_drop_zones.html

but basically i would want to introduce the artist with a text and photo (the photo being inside a drop zone).

let me know if u are able to post the menu.

Brian i love the cubic world tutorial. it be nice if you are able to convert or stretch a standard photo to a panoramic size. I guess using a Miami pano pic will do the trick to introduce the artist and then cut to some digital juice elements, DJ sells the dancers and other elements separately on a kit called “juice drops”. The DJ products I have also provides some swipes which i can use in-between the cuts so it wont be to straight forward, I’ll definitely play with it in 3d with some camera/null moves.

How would I go about adding a drop zone in AE CS3 using the cubic world tutorial? so when the actual animation is about to come to a stop a drop zone right above, or to the side of the text pops up or flys in to display a image of the artist.

its about a total of 5 artist(Musique, GQ, Lime, Tavares, and France Joli) that I need to introduce. Maybe in one cubic world I could introduce two artist.

Thank you Brian you have gave me ideas to work with, I really appreciate your help.

Brian those are good ideas with the ppl dancing but I just got some digital juice products that will cover some of those effects…like the

    Editor’s Themekit 77: Dance Party
    https://www.digitaljuice.com/products/products.asp?pid=800

and Editor’s Themekit 24: Dance Array
    https://www.digitaljuice.com/products/products.asp?tab=t1&pid=587

there are cool and I’m going to use them, but I would also like to create a few of my own so I cut back to so its not so much of the same elements from digital juice. i want to go with a feel that I’m introducing the artist that performed and show that the city of Miami is keeping Disco alive.

I’ll definitely will post once Im done or throughout the process to get feedback. I haven’t started because im here to read and listen to other ppl’s experience and knowledge. thanks for sharing…

which version of SS u have?
what is the length of your video?
what source info you read on ur avid timeline sequence before you did the output to QT?

seems from what im reading your flow is wrong. You said you already output a QT movie file in 720×480 straight from your avid machine correct? meaning its already compressed to a quicktime apple format, then you want to compress again in SS to mpeg2. Why not try and export just your sequence from Avid and import it to SS and compress to mepg2?

Im not a avid editor but in FCP you can export a copy of your sequence (timeline), which I then import it in either Apple Compressor or Sorenson 4.5
