Matthew,
No such thing as a DUMB question… 🙂 I’ve asked plenty
that could be considered dumb.. 🙂Anyway, somewhere you have a start and end keyframe for the
title move. If you type uu to see all the keyframes you’ll
be able to find them. After you select the position track,
you might have to open the graph window, when you do you’ll
see a graph of the velocity for the object. Most likely your
credits move at a constant rate so the graph will be a horizontal
line. Now you can adjust the endpoint while watching the graph or
you can grab the horizontal line and move it or you can type
in the speed by double clicking on the current speed (blue test). This will not change the length of the composition, but rather
the amount of time it takes for the text to scroll up the
screen.I’m not at my workstation so I’m trying to do this from memory,
and I might have gotten a step or two wrong, but the general
idea above should work. Hope this helps.Mark

Matthew,
You will need to change the speed which the texts moves up
the screen. If you have the wrong speed then your text loses
half the resolution or pulsates when moving between the odd
and even scanlines. Unfortunately, the speed that text needs
to move up the screen is usually far faster than desired for
credits in a NTSC project. I can’t remember the equation for
this, but it is in the Motion graphics book Vol2 from Trish
Meyer.Hope this helps a little.

November 14, 2006 at 11:06 pm in reply to: DVD Export – Show Doesn’t Change When Timeline is AdjustedNo problem. Like you I was glad that I wasn’t the
only one having issues. Yup, I agree it’s a bug. -

November 13, 2006 at 8:43 pm in reply to: DVD Export – Show Doesn’t Change When Timeline is AdjustedRJL,
I get this every time I burn a DVD from the PPro 2.0 timeline.
I have to exit PPro and wait for all the Adobe cleanup actions
to quit, then start PPro again, make changes and recreate the
DVD. For me it is easy to note when this happens, because
when I select “Export to DVD” PPro skips the encoding process. Not sure why this happens. Made many a reflective coffee coaster
because I’ve forgotten to quit the program.Mark

Just thought of another one that I have.
The soundFX library from Digital Juice is great.
They were offering it for $249… But I think it
is now back to around $500. It has over 9000 different
sounds.Mark

I agree with TimK, SoundDogs is great. Easy to use and
reasonably priced.SmartSound has a couple of good sound effects CDs
for use with SonicFire.Mark

Wow,
I thought I was doing something strange. A quick glance
and it seems like AE, working with flat layers, should
be faster. I guess it just makes me appreciate C4D even
more. Thanks for the help and sympathy. Oh well… more time
to drink coffee and read manuals.Mark

Oh yeah, I am using AE7.0 with 2GB RAM and a 3.6GHz P4.
