There’s a great script that will turn any simple paths in Illustrator into Shapes in Motion, complete with control points:

However, it only works on simple paths, one at a time, so it may not work for what you are trying to do.

Are you exporting in a format that supports an alpha channel, like Animation or ProRes 4444? And does your switcher support the codec you are using?

Motion can import a Illustrator file as .ai or .pdf, then you turn off fixed resolution in order to scale to any size you like with no loss of resolution.

Add an ambient light. Keyframe it’s intensity to increase and the point light intensities to decrease.
