You would do it in Motion the same way you would do it in AE – so how would you do it in AE?

I would just create a colored version of that diagrams and an “empty” version then reveal the colored verso by using an image mask. The source of the image mask would be a paint stroke along the tube, animated with the Write On behavior.

Try using the Move behavior in order move the camera exactly where you want. Or, for more flexibility, a Framing behavior with a null object (e.g., a turned off rectangle shape).

That would help quite a bit – more RAM helps too but the card is key.

That’s not how to do it. What you need to do instead is, in the Text Inspector, in the last pane, set the Layout to Path. Now double-click the text. You’ll see an line underneath with control points. You can make it in any shape you like. Option-click to add control points. Right-click on them to make them smooth or linear. Adjust the Bezier handles. To animate the text along the path, keyframe the Path Offset parameter (in the same Inspector pane).

I wouldn’t do it that way. Instead, move the anchor point of the object up high, and then apply an Oscillate parameter behavior to the Rotation parameter of the layer. Instant pendulum.

You can make your own pretty easy using a Replicator and an image mask – in fact, there are quite a few preset Replicators in the Library for doing just that.

Like I said, it only works with simple shapes. Sounds like you need to use the Puppet Tool in After Effects to do what you want.
