    Hi.

I just created a toon in illustrator and used meshes to color it. Now I’d like to import it to motion to animate it. How can I make the export/import so that I keep my mesh point editable in motion?

    Thank you.

There’s a great script that will turn any simple paths in Illustrator into Shapes in Motion, complete with control points:

Here’s a short movie on how to use it:

However, it only works on simple paths, one at a time, so it may not work for what you are trying to do.

I’ve already tried that script but it asks me to select shapes when I select my mesh. I don’t think I’ll be able to make it work.
Do I need to start the toon over again? There is not a chance I can control the main points of the shape to deform it a bit and animate them in motion?

    Thank you Mark.

Like I said, it only works with simple shapes. Sounds like you need to use the Puppet Tool in After Effects to do what you want.
