How much footage are you talking about? Motion tries to load your entire project into RAM so that could be part of your issue.

You just need to trash your preferences:
1) Quit Motion.
2) Navigate to User/Library/Preferences.
3) Locate com.apple.motion.plist and delete it.—

Press Q to select the Adjust 3d Transform tool – also make sure Overlays are activated under the View pop-up menu at the top right of the Canvas

Duplicate the clip. track, blur, and mask the duplicate.

That’s correct, you cannot embed audio in a Motion template. You’ll need to bring it into FCP separately.

Outstanding solution, Andy. One thing to add – you need to make sure that the Motion Path behavior has the same location and duration as the Write-On behavior for this to work – but if you do, it works perfectly. Very nice.
