I work at a student TV station… we have three one-year-old iMacs with FCP 6.06 on all of them. Each system and their applications work great, except when Motion is opened on one computer. The File Browser does not pop up. I’ve tried different layouts/arrangements, starting different project formats, rearranged the tool bar, checked the dock, “brought everything to the front.” It, for some reason, does not appear. Obviously one cannot really get by without the File Browser.

Does anyone know what’s wrong and how to fix it? As a last resort, would FCP have to be uninstalled and then reinstalled?

    Thank you!

You just need to trash your preferences:

    1) Quit Motion.
    2) Navigate to User/Library/Preferences.
    3) Locate com.apple.motion.plist and delete it.

    Thanks for the information.

Do you know why the control of the inspector, file browser and library stopped opening?

If not thanks for knowing the cure:)
