Draw a shape over top of it with outline and no fill, use a write-on behavior to animate it, and apply it as an image mask to your logo.

That method won’t work with every template. I’m afraid you’ll have to break down the template to figure out how it is built in order to change the speed. Or try change the speed in FCP, you can speed up or slow down the entire template there.

You apply an image mask (Object > Image Mask) to the fill and drag the matte to the well in the HUD, setting it to Luminance.

March 7, 2010 at 8:45 pm in reply to: Final Cut Pro Send to Motion causes interlace problems? The interlace problems weren’t apparent in FCP because FCP’s Canvas by default only shows you one field, while Motion shows you both fields.
But there is no reason to go to Motion to stabilize a shot, since FCP has the Smoothcam filter, which does exactly the same thing.

If you are using Motion 4 just use the Numbers text generator. For Motion 3, there are some good third party plugins, check idustrialrevolution.com.

Just add the video to the project and drag the ends of the bar in the mini-Timeline, or press I and O to set In and Out points, respectively. Then set a new play range that matches the new clip duration before exporting – but really you don’t need to export if you are just using the clip in Motion. After trimming, you can go to the timing section of the Properties inspector and set the end condition of the clip to loop, then drag it out as long as you need.

Nope. You can use the Link parameter behavior to control the parameter of one layer with the parameter of another (e.g. the number of rows or columns could be controlled by the scale of another layer) but the dimensions of a layer is not a parameter.
