I see my mixer in the X interface so that’s not the issue, I know I am recording from my mixer/mic. The gain slider in the interface is grayed out so no options to increase gain.

A more accurate description of the issue is that the C cam clips while in sync in the multicam editor, exhibits drop outs in the multicam project playback. So there are some random places where video from the C am angle is in proper sync in the editor and just drops out during playback in the project. I’m stumped. Changes made by Moving C cam clips around in the editor does not seem to be reflected in the project playback .

Now something Odd with this multicam clip: I had a perfect edit, replaced the scratch track with the correct audio tracks by adding an angle and syncing up the replacement tracks to scratch tracks. All good so far. When I go back to the multicam clip in my project ( not multicam editor) one camerawomen angle which is comprised of osmo gimbal pickups synced to main performance, some clips are out of sync or showing black in the Project. When I look in at the problem areas in the multicam editor, sync on all clips is correct, but in multicam project some clips from the C cam are out of place. If I try to correct in the multicam editor, by moving the errant c cam clips, the changes are not reflected in the multicam project….

Is this a trash prefs kind of situation?

Solution: Dance company supplied original sound elements and I created a soundtrack bed in a new angle, synced the sound events and disabled all the other tracks in the inspector. Multicam editing makes this super easy to do.

For the moment, my goal is to use Resolve as the front end to X, just to process and rough grade braw. I’d rather edit in X for the time being as it allows me to get my work done without bashing my head too much. When I have time, I can delve into Resolve as needed to expand my skills. I’m particularly interested in the grading side of Resolve, ACES color space, for bringing projects that had different cameras used into some kind of cohesive finish.
I appreciate the tips, which have already helped take some friction out of the BRAW rough grading process. I have an extensive background shooting and I have to say that the new BMPC camera series is pretty spectacular in the images it can deliver.

Yes. I stumbled into this feature earlier today. It seems that its also possible to set an in and out in a clip and just drag that section into the media pool for what that is worth. I’d be happier if X would just support BRAW already, however lacking that I’m getting solid results assembling time lines of clips in Resolve, applying the Arri Rec 709 lut and exporting as pro res HQ, which I import into x for edits. THe BMPC 4k with a few accessories and lenses is really is a really good deal and produces great images without a lot of sweat.

Post a frame grab of your project time line.

BMPC4K users could be cutting in Resolve and skipping X altogether, true. But perhaps it would be a good thing for X to incorporate B-Raw into their realm as they have Red raw. I’ve played a bit with Resolve since I’ve had the BMPC4K and while its nice, I’m still more of an X man, lacking resolve to learn Resolve.

Is there such a thing as a gesture coach for youtube creators? I think that’s where I’m falling down….

Don’t films generally have some difficulty coming up with one good ending?
