I would agree. There doesn’t seem to be any advantages to the 64. I’ve had problems with mine and had to switch to the 32 version to finish a project.
For example, the 64 version kept hanging up and locking my computer when I tried to render as an AVI file. The 32 version rendered it without problem. Also, the 64 version doesn’t seem to recognize Quicktime files. I don’t know why. Rendering on 64 was not any faster, so I’m back the the 32 until I hear that the advantages outweigh the headaches.
Just my 2 cents.

I’m having the same problem with FX 9. I am trying to add a filter effect to my text, and the background is black instead of transparent. Any ideas on why? I am using Vegas 6.0.

How do you know if the directory you are capturing to is compressed or not?
Thanks,

June 20, 2007 at 3:25 pm in reply to: Vegas & M-audio IO Digital Mixer or alternates are ??I just started using the Presonus Firepod at 24/96 and it works wonderfully with Vegas with no latency. I’ve recorded 8 simultaneous tracks with no problems. You just need to assign the different tracks. I’ve been told that you can daisy chain as many as 3 of them together for 24 tracks, but for right now I’m only using 1.

I switched the VTR from 1/2 to 3/4, and it made no difference in capture or playback. The Camcorder is a Sony DSR 200…… Not one that I normally use. I don’t have the camcorder, otherwise I would try playback through it.

I took your advice and tried another capture. This time I used the DV Capture that was stock on my Sony computer. During the capture, I could hear the “good” channel, so I thought I was in the clear, but once the video was captured and I loaded the file into Vegas, it still gave me the camera mic channel in mono. I can try Scenalyzer if you think that might make a difference. It seems to be a problem with capturing DVCAM.
Thanks for all of the help

Anybody? Surely someone had this problem before. The VCR is a JVC BRDV-3000. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thank you….I thought I was losing my mind.
Thanks again for the help. You’re a great resource.

Bingo. That’s it. It must definitely be in either the deck or the camera. I recorded audio into Vegas from my mic, and no problems at all. I imported some CD audio, and no problems there as well.
Here’s the strange part… In playback of the tape that was recorded, the audio problem is not present.(At least it is not nearly as noticeable) The problem happens when I playback the same file once I captured on Vegas.
I’m going to try previously captured material, a different deck, etc, and see if I can locate the source of the problem.
Thanks for helping me sort this out.
