1 – Will Vegas work with the M-Audio Project Mix IO Control Surface and Firewire Interface ?

    https://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/ProjectMixIO-main.html

Will each chanel record onto a seperate track in Vegas?

2 – What other alternatives for mechinal faders/sliders exist so you can control levels to each chanel with faders?

    Thanks for any help.

Any control surface with Midi interface should work, though you may have to spend some time assigning controls if it’s not directly supported (like this one).
Any input device with proper drivers would allow you to assign different inputs to different tracks.

I use a Mackie Control surface and a MOTU audio I/O.

    Gary,

I just found the Motu 8pre firewire audio Interface…

    https://www.zzounds.com/item–MTU8PRE

    8PRE 16×12 FireWire Audio Interface
8 XLR/TRS “combo jack” mic inputs.

1 – Are 24 bit 96 kHz converters satisfactory for today

I just started using the Presonus Firepod at 24/96 and it works wonderfully with Vegas with no latency. I’ve recorded 8 simultaneous tracks with no problems. You just need to assign the different tracks. I’ve been told that you can daisy chain as many as 3 of them together for 24 tracks, but for right now I’m only using 1.
