If you are editing in XDCAM HD, then export firewire using Sony’s Transfer software.
If you are editing using DVCProHD (like most of us do), use the Print to Video command and use HD-SDI.

What capture card are you using? If you are using AJA products, then only the Kona 2 or 3 will accept this machine.

They look great to me! I’m looking at you website on a PC and the whites are white. Maybe its older versions of Quicktime that have this issue. I’m using the latest 7.1.5 Quicktime.
Nice job on the website! Did you do the work yourself or hire a website designer?

By the way… I forgot to mention that you need to remove any of the Apple 512 meg RAM bars, if all the others are 1 gig RAM bars.

Before you go ANY further, you need to check you RAM. Who installed the extra RAM in your system? You or a third-party manufacturer? The new Mac Pro has some serious memory requirements concerning FCP. Here’s an Apple doc explaining this…

Well… Personally, I think that is very reasonable.
But let me ask. What have you invested into HD? Monitors, computers, capture cards, decks. You have to figure what type of HD are you doing and do you have the equipment or do you have to rent. What are your tape (disc) cost going to be? Has your workflow been increased by doing HD?
If you have already dumped a bunch of money into HD and this is your first, I think a $10 upcharge should be very reasonable to an exsisting client.

Sure!
I do it all of the time. But you really need to make sure that you have Sony’s Transfer Software 1.1 and using at least FCP 5.1.2.

No. All panels are in their default area.
