Surely its possible also to simply file copy both the Event and Project files onto an an external drive.

As long as the media associated with these files remains or is placed in the same original position the Event and Project files will link up.

Or is this a flawed plan?

    Hi Denver,

Great set of tutorials to learn about the FCP X color board. I watched them when you released them a couple of months ago.

But what is the connection with these tutorials and Magic Bullet Looks 2 ?

Magic Bullet Mojo is compatible with FCP X but to my knowledge MBL 2 is not yet available for FCP X.

But maybe you know something we don’t.

    Thanks

    It’s all there now.

Updates for Motion, Compressor and Final Cut Pro.

So in about an hour and half it should all be installed.

The Motion update is 1.16 GB.

Yeah – good news for all.

Especially those pioneers who have actually been using this software for commercial pro projects despite its flaws.

What I am hoping for when I get to download this update is greater stability. I can’t count the number of spinning ball crashes I’ve had.

This forum will definitely benefit from the update – something real to talk about.

I too would really recommend EventManagerX.

I’ve got EventManagerX on my dock next to FCP X and it’s really easy to use.

As time passes having control over your events becomes more essential. FCP X works better with less clutter. That’s with both events and projects.

That’s a great piece Mark – Very lively – How long did it take you to put it all together? And all in FCPX?

    Hi Alban,

Brilliant analysis, mirrors my experience of delving back into FCP7 from 2 months of working in FCP X.

We rarely reopen FCP7 projects once they are completed. Sometimes programmes need re-branding but that work is done on safety sub-masters.

Sometimes I reopen old projects to find out archive HD Tape contents.

I’ve now completed 4 reasonably complicated short programmes on FCP X and can’t really see myself going backwards. And that is what it feels like opening up FCP7 – going backwards.

However – if external monitoring doesn’t look like materialising after a reasonable period of time I might have to reluctantly look elsewhere.

Thanks for all you posts and the excellent FCPX_Megatest blog.

    hi Geoff

Thanks for that info – I might wait until I hear some good feedback of it working with FCP X.
