Event and Project browsers
Posted by Robb Albrecht on September 7, 2011 at 6:11 pmWill every event and sequence I make with iMovieX will show up in the browsers?
I do a ton of versions and alternate sequences of spots and 30 minute shows for a bunch of different clients and it seems like the browsers will get cluttered up really quick. I don’t see a way around this, is there one?

September 7, 2011 at 6:31 pmFirst the in-FCPX solutions:
Events cannot be placed into folders, so they are all open when the disk is mounted
Projects can be put into folders, so that helpsoutside FCPX
there is an app (i think it´s called eventmanagerX), I don´t use it, because I use the next method, but I heard it works goodThe easy way is to create directories where you park your events and projects. I always have a structure “year/client/project/” in here I create “FCPEventsParked” and “FCPProjectsparked”. Once you drag your Event and Project out of the “root/Final Cut Events” and “root/Final Cut Projects” they are not visible in FCPX anymore. Takes a second.
Actually…I might take a look at this eventmanager app myself now, haha.

September 8, 2011 at 4:43 amI too would really recommend EventManagerX.
I’ve got EventManagerX on my dock next to FCP X and it’s really easy to use.
As time passes having control over your events becomes more essential. FCP X works better with less clutter. That’s with both events and projects.
