Dave, nothing like that. Just basic, audio only PP projects.

    Thanks Dave.

Restarting my machine, NAS and switch has solved it. Now media mapping/relinking is the headache of the hour.

I’ve exhausted all the options I can think of. Guess I’ll go down the road less traveled…and cross my fingers.

    Thanks Glenn.

The RS doesn’t have any lights…just a metal case covering a small PCB. It’s connected in the correct direction. The 2800 has only one 9 pin and it’s marked remote. The DVCPro deck has 2. I’m connected to the one marked remote in and the second is marked remote out. So, I’m confident I have the right connections.

This morning, I also trashed and rebuilt the MC Site Settings and tried to establish control from a new project. No change. The maker of the new converter included some test scenarios to poll the device from Terminal in Windows. I’m gonna give that a shot to verify that it’s communicating properly.

Uhhh, now that I look at it, the Q and R designations are for components on the board, not wire connections. But still, the connection near Q3 joins the black wire on the PCB and they both go to ground…my plan should still work.

    Thanks Ricky.

I’ve checked the RS422 spec but it doesn’t correlate to the makings on the Addenda PCB. I’ll bring my DVM in tomorrow and maybe I can isolate the Q3 wire as it appears to go to ground on the PCB.

Hmmm. I wonder why the guy I spoke with didn’t offer that. I asked several times to make sure we both understood the situation and he kept telling me the dongle could not be used once the activation had been made thru software.

Thanks for the helpful info. I may try again with another support person.
