September 21, 2016 at 4:48 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC (Mac) and Canon 5d MK4

4k, 25fps i think its the Dual AMD FirePro D300

the storage is raid 0 we have a main and backup drive, using the LaCie 24TB 8big Thunderbolt 2 Rack Series which give us about 1330 MB/s Data Transfer Speeds a main and a clone just update the clone at the end of each edit day
not ideal but with our workload works ok,

until recently we shot on the Mk3 1080/25fps and it ran perfect,

if not Proress, what would be a good codec to transcode to ? any advice more than welcome 🙂

    THanks

when you say Large screen projection,
do you mean, multi projection or just a single projector on a big screen ?

    Hi Penny,

it sounds as if they need the following

1 x edit master of your film on Digi Beta (with no captions/Graphics)
2 x Edit masters of your fIlm on Digi Beta (with all the captions/Graphics)

Its, a timeline that does not need to render, i.e i press enter and it only renders the audio, the video is fine,

it plays the same way on the HDV studio Vtr, so if that can not play it back corectly, what chance have i of capturing it Prem, captures what it is given! as they say crap in crap out..

worse would be a under statement, even on static shots you can see that there is a problem, like a slite head movement is jerky, as if the whole video has a 1 frame strobe effect…

and it gets worse convinced that the camera person was not realy one, 80% of the shots are soft focus. (or maybe that’s a new stlye I don’t know about 🙂 )

I think its time to call the client, and just give the tapes back.

rather than suffer the pain of trying to sort it

Is is def. a PAL shoot, as i can load it in a Pal Project and my VTR when set to pal plays it back, just is very jerky,

on calling the camera Guy ( well Women ) she said she had set it to Profile 4 on the camera which is the “film like” profile

I assume this is CF24 as that is what the manual call it..

just as a test i have tried it in a NTSC project, still same problem,

Even when i play it back in the camera that recorded it i get the jerky movement, its like frame grab back in the old linear days

    regards
