    hi

need some help creating a clip for a large screen projection

The clip is basically in a slideshow like format ..text and images ..that im dropping into a sequence in Premiere with fades inbetween them.

the size of the screen is 16 feet in width and 12 feet in height.
    a coupla questions :

what would be the minimum screen size i’d need to set in PPro for it to play without pixelating ?

what should be the minimum resolution for the images i use ?

also what would be the a good export format ?

    thanks !
    sh

What’s the resolution of the projector you are going to use?? Match your settings to it.

What format to export to will be dictated by the way it will be played to the projector.

If you have a PS3 you could have a full HD MPEG-2 or H.264 running from a file not a BluRay DVD. But if the only playback device you have is a DVD player then you are limited to DVD resolution.

A laptop could be your playback device, but you will need to test it and how the laptop performs with a HD file while being connected to a high resolution external monitor (projector). There might be issues with bandwidth keeping up.

Some more info in the device direction would go along way to find the best answer/s for you.

    Hi

much appriciate the quick replies .. ! 🙂

it is a single screen . back projection. need to get the specs of the projector from the guys im getting it from …

i reckon a DVD player or laptop is all that we have.

the images i have at my disposal are 300 DPI.. and a minimum of 2000 pixels on their longer sides. would these be ok when resized to fit the frame size of 1920 x 1080 ? i mean will they hold up when projected or would that depend on the export settings ?

    i’ve created a timeline for the 16 ft x 12 ft screen

    1920 x 1080
    25fps
    and a 1.333 aspect ratio.

am i doing something wrong ? would like to be sure before i render it out … 😀

    Thanks much ppl !!!!

Once again you need to know the specs of the projector, and how it scales, right now you have a 16’x12″ which is a 4:3 screen that you are making a 16×9 project for, you are using a 1920×1080 preset that uses sq pixels, but you are using a 1.3 aspect ratio, the thing is to find out what your equip. is capable of before you start the project.
