I don’t mean to be rude, but this is something that can be easily checked by going to the Borisfx website…. It took me seconds to find that the latest update is Graffiti 4. You can purchase the upgrade for 299$ usd.

The easiest way to do this is to drop all of your tracks into a 3d container, then move the Z position of the container. Cameras is the one area that I have always found to be a little weak in Boris….maybe I don’t understand them properly, but I much prefer the camera system in After Effects. That said, I am still a big fan of Boris 🙂

REad the manual, and the most important part of the manual that YOU MUST KNOW…the rendering pipeline…once you understand the way in which Boris renders, half of the battle is won.

Chad, you got it, except, try using the make alpha key filter instead of the luminance key….that is what it is made for.

You need to activate the mapping in the texture tab of the controls window for the 3d track. Then….you know what, I’ll go one better, follow these steps and it will work, let’s start at the beginning, a mini tutorial if you will.
1. bring in EPS file selecting EPS in the track and browsing to file
2. If you need to edit the eps files outline (Something that can be quite fun), then change the track type to spline object…..now you have editable spline points
3. Select the 3d extrusion option.
4. In the controls window, go to textures and click in the checkbox for each face that you want to apply the texture. By default you should see the soccer ball in all it’s glory.
5. Twirl down the EPS file track in the timeline…you should now see a texture track for each texture you activated
6. Now the mistake most people make is to simply change the soccer ball to the EPS by browsing….Better way. create a new EPS track, then browse to your EPS file and drag that new track onto the texture track. Why you ask, glad you asked….because you now have a FULL track on the texture, meaning that you have full controls for that track including scale, transparency, and yes you can add filters to that texture track…..you can’t do that if you go the other route.
7. Now simply adjust the scale values for the nested EPS file (The one that you just dropped onto the texture track) until it fits perfectly onto the 3d element.Voil

kind of…..this wouldn’t work for an entire timeline…the way to do this would be to create a reference movie export from media100, this you could import into the stand-alone Boris Red and render out of there.

No
The realtimefx card for media100 renders media100 effects. Things such ass dissolves and wipes. Borisfx will use your processor for it’s renders. Media100 now also uses the processor, something that was changed back in version 7ish…before that it was the Vincent board that helped with the renders…You seem to have pretty good machine specs, your renders should be pretty quick.
If you have Red, I suggest the following workflow.
Get all of your video into Red using the bin browser, save the Red project, then cancel, go back to media100 and shutdown media100. Now launch the Boris Red standalone app….you will see very noticeable performance enhancements, and your final renders will be much quicker. You can render out to the media100 codec from Red, so media100 will not have to re-render the effects…much…much…much quicker workflow.Regards
