  • I did a complete uninstall of all products, except Photoshop CS2, as it is the same version. I also did a backup of things like AE plugs, Encore menus and Audition files (loops)….this is because some of those files were freebies from the previous version and aren’t included in the new install. The new install is HUGE and takes close to an hour, even on my dual xeon machine.

February 28, 2006 at 1:58 pm in reply to: field rendering issues AL 7 – Encore DVD 2

    Steve,
Thanks for the reply. The problem is that only the 720×486 sources look good…the 720×480 don’t. Do you think that maybe I should try rendering the 720×480 to a 720×486 comp ???

I am at work at the moment, this on my home business computer. I will try to fix it up tonight. I can always render without fields, but it is not an option that I particularly want to use.

I have also noticed that anything that I render as lower field first in AE7 wants to use upper field first once on a timeline back in Avid Liquid7.

Is it possible that there is an issue with AE7 on a PC that could reverse fields at the render ???

    Thanks again,

I’d love to try it….but it would seem that Boris Blue doesn’t like ATI….. I bought ATI for Avid Liquid…..

I’m sure he means a 3d plane. Color doesn’t matter, as you won’t see it.

sorry to answer for Tim…forgive me Tim 🙂

Or, create a big o with the text tool and use that as your map track….I suspect rendering might be a little quicker, and also a little easier to adjust.

But is it the background that is not transparent, or rather something that Boris is creating that is not transparent…Please explain to me what is not transparent in more detail, from there I should be able to help.

Ok, so here is what I would do….

Track one… on the face of the track you will put the the top left image of from Avid.

Track two, you will create a flat 3d plane.

Track three…You will then create a new flat 3d plane and apply the back image to this.

Now, you will take track one and track two and drop them into a 3d container and set the renderer to z-space. Now click back on track two and set the z-position (Constant) to 1. Now, click back on the container and spin the container around.

Drag track three onto track two to nest it…you will want to nest it upstream from the tranformations.

Scale the container so that it fits (One ninth) And now adjust the scale properties of track three to reveal just what you need.

Duplicate this container, move it a little to the right and change the image on track one, and move the image on track three.

REpeat this a bunch of times and you should now be able to get exactly what you want.

    Hope this helps

Ok..I get it……honestly, I would do this with After Effects, simply because they have filter that is exactly designed for this.

I know that we can do this in Boris Red, but we will have to figure out how. By the way, in After Effects the filter is called Card Dance.

I;ll get back to you on this one shortly…will do some testing.
