Cool thanks.
So we have to be careful not setting that rate too high, as some units will not playback the DVDs with a higher bit-rate.

I would say that if you interpret the footage correctly in After Effects it doesn’t really matter.

There may be a few filters inside of continuum that are not in Red. But shattered glass is called 3d image shatter inside of Red. Red will plug into FCP, but will open a new interface inside of FCP. Continuum will act as a filter letting you apply it’s values to a clip from within the FCP interface.
Pretty much all things Continuum end up in Red. Continuum 4 was just released, Red 3GL is a few years old. It is normal that some features will not be there…that said, if you jump into Red you will be able to take advantage of ugrade pricing later down the road.HTH

Continuum is basically just the filters. Graffiti is a titler with animation possiblities. FX is a compositor. Boris Red is all of them wrapped into one. If you are looking to do menus with motion, text, compositing etc, then I would look towards Red.
To get the templates, you need to open the library browser (Window-library browser)Good luck.

I would blue-screen this, as if there are slight keying problems the water should help correct this. Use a tranfer mode on the keyed subject, and possibly the displacment map using the luminance in the water to distort the subject.

I find using the change color filter (select color and play with matching tolerance), setting it to view matte, then applying levels and blur can achieve a decent matte. From their, use this as a track matte for you original source and use the choker as needed. I have pulled keys from this method even when keylight wouldn’t touch it.

Thanks for your help. I got the DVD to work. I let Encore do the After Effects rendering via Dynamic Link. I also reduced the max bit rate and now the DVD looks good. The max bit rates seem to vary…go figure…set a max of 8mbs and sometimes the player would spike to 10mbs….

The lower bit rate, along with Encore perfoming the render (Dynamic Link) seem to have done the job.
What is weird is that my player still shows 8mbs even though I capped a CBR at 6mbs.
When the rate was set to a max of 8mbs I noticed the player spiking sometimes as high as 10mbs….

Ok, so now I am stumped…My original post with the bad DVD….well, the DVD plays fine in another player(B), BUT, the 720×486 which were great on the (A) player now look like they have reversal in (B) player….I managed to get a decent DVD using the Adobe Dynamic Link to let Encore do the rendering. I also lowered the CBR from 8 mbs to 6 mbs….I will post more results as I do tests.
