May 8, 2007 at 12:33 pm in reply to: AE and Avid – Graphics with an Alpha

I would suspect that your graphics are created with lines that are too thin. EG: 1 pixel in height…. The problem with graphics that are going to be interlaced and are not thick enough is that the interlace turns the line off and on each frame (on for a field, off for a field). On a thin line, this can make the lines dance or flash.

Try thickening up graphics. Also render out a straight alpha and millions of colors+

    Yes,

But it is a seperate install (The installer is on the AE7 Pro disk, but you have to run it seperately).

    1. No, won’t do anything
    2. Yes.
    3. You could use CC, but your video clip probably already has motion blur naturally occuring.

    Hope this helps

Dennis, I remember sitting in a taxi in New York with you….You were telling me how much better Avid was than media100. I will be moving onto a Symphony Ni9tris in the next few weeks….my first Avid product (If you don’t count Avid Liquid and other acquired technology).. I am excited, but at the same time a little worried by reading this thread.

Grinner, keep on keeping on. You gotta keep giving your opinion….once you stop doing that, well you may as well dissapear from the mods position. I have always enjoyed your humour, wisdom and general good nature.

    Regards

It sounds like something from camstudio or camtasia…are either of these two, or an equivalent (Adobe has one I believe) screen capturing softwares on your computer ???

I love that effect. I use it along with gradients to control depth of field on certain 2d images.

    Great idea Dave.

I would try random expression with blur, tint (expression on amount and colour) and maybe try using a fractal noise along with a displacment map.

Hope this gets you started…I haven’t seen many zombie movies lately 😉

You can copy and paste an edit from Premiere Pro onto an After Effects timeline, as far as I know 🙂
