  • How to create the zombie or drug induced vision effect

Posted by Accountneedsrealnameupdate on April 24, 2007 at 2:42 pm

I’m interested in creating an effect of altered vision. Such as you might see in a zombie movie when depicting how a zombie sees. Or perhaps the effect of drug altered vision. With effects like tracking, motion blur, color altering, etc. Any ideas or examples how to achieve this?

    Thanks
    Tom

I think you could try with the Echo effect. Try to play with it, sliding time controls before or after the point you want to have the “drug effect” on. You can also implement this using some gaussian, fast or directional blur, it depends on how is your shot.

I tried to explain the concept as good as i can, sorry for my bad english.

    Cya!

I would try random expression with blur, tint (expression on amount and colour) and maybe try using a fractal noise along with a displacment map.

Hope this gets you started…I haven’t seen many zombie movies lately 😉

I love that effect. I use it along with gradients to control depth of field on certain 2d images.

    Great idea Dave.

[mark harvey] “I haven’t seen many zombie movies lately ;-)”

here in Holland, a few weeks ago, there was a massif zombie walk near Amsterdam. there were i lot of people dressed as zombies, but because they didn’t ask for permission for this huge walk on the streets, the police interfered this. 🙂 i’ll bet this was the first time the police carried so much zombies away ^^

when i think of a “drug effect” i thought of a tunnel vision or something, you can created that with fisheyes, or lens distortions, and a whole lot of stuff.
and zombies look in black and wite, and if you have like a cyber zombie , you can create that old look tv interference, also very cool ^^
