July 24, 2005 at 11:34 pm in reply to: Exported Quicktime looks terrible

    Hi,

Yesterday I exported my project file to mpeg2 with FCP internal export “using quicktime conversion”.
My compressor application is corrupted after upgrading to FCP Studio 🙁
I burned it to DVD with DVD Studio Pro and quality is low in my opinion.
I definitely checked highest quality settings before exporting but it still looks worse than video played back from my timeline. Lacks contrast and somehow blacks are washed out.
Tomorrow I need to reinstall all applications and definitely I will use Compressor next time. It is big difference in quality in my opinion.

    Graeme,

I was going to ask same question today about uneven exposure and your filter is exactly what I am looking for.
Let us know when approximately you think you’ll have filter ready for sale. Thanks for doing that.

June 21, 2005 at 2:38 pm in reply to: EC3 Remote problems

    Hi Bruce,

    Please check following;
when you unplug ECU do you have gain, white balance and knee switch on camera on the same values like when using ECU?
Reason why I am asking is that when you have ECU connected it overwrites camera gain, white balance. When you unplug it camera goes to what switches on camera are set to. So that would explain problem with white color shift and exposure that you have.
When you have ECU connected you can not change ROP seeting with rotary menu button. You have all the other knobs for every ROP setting on ECU controller. ROP (remote operational panel) is special menu where you can see all values that you are changing with ECU in one convenient menu.
BTW I have few cameras here with newest upgrade and they work normally.
    I hope it helps.

    Brian,

Please call for details. I am not sales person and you will be probably talking to somebody else from sales.
I will maintain/service your equipment later and provide technical support.
I am monitoring this and other forums for technical reasons but I thought I it will be wise to mention benefits that you will get by buying from authorized dealer that offers more options than most of the vendors.

    Hi,

Yes, we have locations in CA and NY so tax applies to citizens of both states.
I just would like to mention that we in comparison to different vendors provide support and service for equipment purchased trough us. That means that let’s say your microphone holders brakes and you can get part from us immedietely or within couple of days most. Otherwise you need to contact manufacturer and sometimes getting camera fixed, maintained takes longer and you do not have option to call and have free support as well.
I thought that would be things to consider for future puchasers of P2, HDV or HD cameras.
Please do not hesitate to call me or ask questions.

    Hi,

Panasonic is listening but some features can not be added to prosumer camera.
Jan and Panasonic engineers came to Abelcine Tech NY and presented camera before NAB. They also took notes on improvements that can be done and one of them was better tripod plate that unfortunately breaks sometimes on DVX. Defintely you will see improvements but as I said this is prosumer camera and unfortunately not all requested feauteres can be implemented.
    Thank you,
