If you have Resolve dedicated machine then i see no point using 4000 as gui gpu.
Specially when you have limited power options.—

i have done second timeline from resolve output with cut down scenes and copy pasted basic motion and distort etc what needed from the original shots. but for long program this is royal pain.
in the other hand maybe it will be solved by fcpx support. many requests here seem to me that
would be reasonable to wait so the fcpx thing will be clear and maybe deal with those then.if i had product like that i would wait it to settle.

or just get second mac pro. maybe older one for kona as it does not have to be as beefy as resolve machine

if you have only 2 gpus in the machine then it is normal. Resolve uses on for processing and the other for ui. I have not tested it but if you had 120 + 2x 4000 then there could be option to have power of two 4000 units.

If it works it will make noize. But not in the beginning. When under heavy load
gpu will heat up and the the cooling comes in. this is normal when all works.—

Remind me case i had 15 years ago.
Producer asked me why is this taking so long.
You have computer and there you have probably 2 buttons.
1. make and 2. beautiful. See that does not take so long just press 1 and 2.It is a bit same here. Make beautiful.
I agree with Sascha that you do not have ever hardly clean skin tones.

in theory they should work nicely.
do you use one as gpu and the other as gui ?
i would put 120 in slot 3 for gui. just an idea.
