I had pretty similar problem lately.
Just rendered out baked qt and readjusted in fcp all zoom ins.
I was lucky as i just had 1080p but the idea is the same.
In the other hand there is not reason for BM at the moment to go deep on that
as we have to wait out what will go one with fcpx round tripping.—

You should in any case make your material to smaller reels 15 to 20 minutes.
Maybe even smaller.This would make the project more simpler to work with and better for the machine to handle.

Cant you use just full frames?
If it will look ok on pal then who needs fields. I seldom use fields any more.
Every body have lcd tv etc and they do not know fields mostly.DSLR and Red all make full frames. For tv i only use fcp to make upper field file but the material
on timeline is always progressive. Progressive feels more “filmic” 🙂—

I wonder if something like ring lite will also make this kind of anomalia ?
What i mean does it wary from product to product and some are better and some are not ?

I agree on that qt sound merge thing but yes it would be eazyer to output directly.

I think filter can be added later after grading ?
Specially when we keep rendering speed in mind.

Only memory will not help probably as cuda cores is what count and how os and driver can handle them.
