Flash is really cpu hungry. I used to do web stuff with it and boy did it bog down fast machine in a heart beat. Jobs did not say just for fun that flash in ipad will not happen.

You need mac pro with fast array and secondary cuda gpu or multiple gpus to run stuff smoothly.
It was not intended to run smoothly on imac i think.
With lite everything is a bit limited. Imac does not differ from a laptop in tech sense even with i7 etc.
Gpu is what makes things fly.—

just create video file with safe area in black and white, and then screen it on with layer node.
it should be simple.

I have 120 and 4000 and i even use 4000 as my secondary display gpu connected only with fcp session
and all works well.—
