check out plugin for fcp.
it does a bit differently this calculation … not just blur. more sophisticated i’d say.

I have had a bit similar question but just with color nodes.
If it would be possible to add from still but in a way that still nodes will
append to already existing ones. So if i make balanced shots and just want to add look.
It would make stuff much more faster than dragging nodes from stills tree.—

There will be hdrx with epic. I wonder if and how it would be supported on r3d material.
Specially for large dynamic range. The idea is the same as node based iso but
a bit more sophisticated id say.—

You did not specify where you have caps with red stuff or with canon stuff?

I bet you get more nodes per shot? Not only 2 streams but lets say you have
one 2k stream and you can put about 30 nodes on that one.So in theory lets say you use 10 nodes and render out you should get really huge speed.
To go really mad think about 4x 285 with two expanders.But this is just my theory. BM could give some direction here 🙂

generally you do not have to convert if you manage to use original camera files as they are h264.
resolve suports them directly as is.problem is how to get edl from lets say fcp as fcp do not play native h264 well.
