I am having issues getting a conform right. Feature length film. 95% is RED footage, handful of DSLR and DV shots. In config have Assist using reel numbers>Source clip file path name. Adding folders to media pool. 85% of the film comes in correctly BUT there a few sections where nothing comes at. Timeline is black, even though the EDL indicates that clips should be present. This happens on couple of occasions. The first few shots after the gaps are also wrong. Wrong shot completely. Tried different conform options, nothing seems to change.

    Source is FCP EDL.

Also, I can not figure out how to load the offline clip as a still in order to help check pans and zooms. I have it loaded into the conform

    Thanks for any help

In the browse window add your off-line clip to the media pool by right-clicking and choose “add as offline clip”
In the conform window select your offline clip in the timeline management drop down list next to your session.

Thanks, i got that, but I still don’t see how I can use that in the color tab in order to compare it.

    It’s a little counter intuitive but –

    1. create a still
    2. play still
    3. change still type to “offline”
now the still that plays will be the offline clip loaded. you can change wipe type to vertical, horizontal, or mix.

Ok, I will give that a try. Any thoughts on why my conform would have gaps where the EDL clearly indicates clips.

You did not specify where you have caps with red stuff or with canon stuff?

To toggle the offline on the color page.
Right click, toggle wipe mode to whip your offline and not a still.

I have completed several similar conforms. With the combination of the right settings it does work.
Make sure you remove the media from the pool, refresh and re add to the media pool for each change you try.

    Hope that helps.

I’ve never gotten it to play, but if you go to the middle of the shot and click it on and off, it will refresh to the correct frame.

The color page offline doesn’t support play currently. It is possible to play them on the Conform page.

I believe pressing the “Stop” on the control surface will update it to the matching frame.

    Conform issue;

Until the next release try this, ask your offline editor to remove all transitions and blk, ax, slug edits (you can keep speed changes) then use this edl to split and add media into media pool. Use the same edl in the deck ingest tab “load edl” to check if the media is in the pool!
Once all your media shows up as in the media pool,
Import the original off line edl with translation etc to the conform page, you should be good to go!
