Audio drifting
Posted by Gareth Cook on January 22, 2011 at 4:38 pmGood morning All,
I did a conform with Red files and picture matches offline, i added the audio file and it starts in sync and over time drifts out of sync. The footage is about 14min long. Anybody else have this problem? Any thoughts?
Thanks

January 22, 2011 at 5:14 pmIf the source footage and the audio are the same frame rate (e.g. 23.98&23.98 or 24&24 etc.) and it still drifts, check the “monitoring” section on the config tab, I’ve found it also needs to be set to that frame rate…

January 22, 2011 at 6:13 pmWould be nice if we could set all available fps settings, globally, for all four windows and with a simple dropdown tab
Like 23,976 for exampleA slice of color…

January 23, 2011 at 10:00 amThis sounds like a 23.976/24 problem. There’s a quick way to check this.
Set the video monitoring to 24sF, see if you have the problem. If yes, set it to 23.98sF (leave the play speed at 24 — Resolve will still play it at the native speed of 23.976).
Once you have identified this, you might need to slow down or speed up the audio to match the video playback speed.
