Drag the card image into “Other Scan Locations” and use the “Store Links with MXF Files” option.

[Marcus van Bavel] “I’m discussing it now with Apple developer support. I’ll post an update here when they have something constructive to say about it.”

They’ve declared it an official bug and will be sending me progress reports. It affects all FAT-16 volumes apparently (a P2 Card is a FAT-16 volume).

Their only suggested workaround was put it on a Windows machine and turn off the Read-Only flags. Since that’s not really practical I guess we just have to wait for the fix.

[Arthur Aldrich] “Obviously, Apple has changed something in Leopard.”

    Yep

I’m discussing it now with Apple developer support. I’ll post an update here when they have something constructive to say about it.

  • DVFilm Maker for Mac can add 3:2 pulldown. I believe it is almost real time for most SD formats and typical workstations.

It also has options for softening interline flicker (the “Deflicker” setting) and others,

    See https://dvfilm.com/maker

If you’re on Windows then you need Raylight Encoder to edit DVCPROHD quicktimes.

I would download the sample P2 card image at dvfilm.com/raylight and compare it with yours as regards the names of the audio files vs the names of the video files. I don’t suppose this was recorded on a firestore?

Assuming that’s all correct and RayMaker does not complain about missing audio files, then the next question is, did you record sound on channels 1,2?

If not then drag the channel 3,4 audio MXF files directly into Raymaker and it will convert them into WAV files and they can be imported separately.

  • You’ll have better luck doing a support request through the website. It’ll require a custom mod to the software.

If they are quicktimes then you need to use Raylight Decoder (a DVCPROHD component for quicktime/windows). https://dvfilm.com/raylight/decoder

  • If Raylight isn’t doing it, then the firestore is using a different pattern than the camera uses for the P2 Cards, On the P2 cards there are 2 identical frames followed by 3 identical frames. Contact DVFilm support they might be able to help you.

They need to instead shoot and edit at 25P. The film out company will handle the conversion from 25 to 24. Contact DVFilm.com for more info.
