Rephrasing a question – Forcing the removal of pulldown
Hi All,
I’ve already asked about this the other day, but I wanted to re-post as a more coherent issue (this is a cross post with the Firestore forum):
I have a 90 min live segment that was shot 720P 24fps on the HVX going to FS-100 as P2.
I think there was a mixed up setting on the camera or firesotre because FCP does not recognize the P2 files as having pulldown. I can bring them into FCP, but only as 60fps.
I have tried to remove the pulldown using Raylight, but it’s not removing the correct frames, as the 24fps file I get has as many ‘dupe’ frames as live ones.
Also tried After Effects pulldown removal, but no dice there either.
I BELIEVE the camera’s TC setting was FREE RUN
When I look at the imported 60FPS quicktime, this is the cadence I get:
L=live frame
D=dupe frameLDDLDLDDLDLDDLDLDDLDLDDLDLDDLDLDDLDLDDLDLDDLDLDDLDLDDLDLDDLD
Can anyone shed some light on how to get this solved? I need to get the video down to 24P, otherwise I can’t use this footage. Re-rendering the footage down to 24FPS in FCP just gives me choppy video, as it’s keeping as many dupe frames as live ones.
THX!
