maybe it’s the way how you import the file.
a simple drag and drop into area on the left side where all my other project files and bins are located does it for me.although i had similar problems with video files in the past where premere also complained with an “file format not supported” error where it shouldn’t
i fixed the problem by just renaming the extension to something i knew it would accept. in my case it was .avi
i just did a quick test and renamed an .mp3 to .avi – premiere still imported it without a problem and handled it just the way it’s supposed to.
give it a try… maybe you’re lucky.

Answering my own question:
Got it! I was in the wrong place. instead of editing the masks I had to highlight the strokes inside of the effects controls… like this the resizing of the complete transition worked just as expected. -
Thank you very much.
This answers all my questions

…is there actually any way to download this tutorial for offline viewing?
I looked at the whole series. part 1-3 are quicktimes… but this one is flash. I’d really like to keep it for reference along with the project file.
Or is it not downloadable on purpose?
thanks : )

May 5, 2009 at 12:30 am in reply to: how to get audio “back” after dragging new clip over itThank you Ann,
I think I saw this solution already posted somewhere else here on the board when I did a search before I wrote this post. When I follow it I only get the full clip. not the edited version that is in the timeline.
the solution from one of the anwers posted before did work so far. although there seems to be something strange going on once the movie is rendered.>>>
Audio is there during editing. But once I render, the audio is gone in the final movie.
This seems extremely weird and I have no explenation yet. -

thank you! that did the trick. the procedure whcih is described in the FAQ was actually exactly the same what i have already done before. but like i thought… i made a little mistake and i almost did not realize it this time either.
after importing all the stuff showed up in my project… all the bins were there, the footage and the stills. but nothing in the timeline. i did not realize the the imported sequence had of course the same name and that i need to drag the sequence into the timeline first to make the stuff that i am looking for show up.well,… problem sloved.
thanks a lot to everyone who contributed to the solution.

April 27, 2009 at 9:39 pm in reply to: how to get audio “back” after dragging new clip over itthank you arturas… but i can’t do that.
the project was already saved. i did not realize the mistake right away when i made it.even if i could go back it would not really help me out, because in this case all the work i have done AFTER the mistake (which is quite an amount) would be gone.
MAYBE THE FOLLOWING INFO COULD HELP TO FIND A SOLUTION:
i am a very frequent saver and i always do incremental saves. i DO have several versions of the project with the sound still intact.
one of the first things i tried was to “import” just this part of the project into the current version. but it did not work the way i thought – maybe i just did something wrong?
so, does anyone know if it is possible to merge a portion on a project into another? or maybe i could also delete all the unnecessary stuff from one of the old versions then save it just with the part that i need and import this whole thing into the current version.
