I see that while i was typing this, a fairly similar question was posted below.

    I’ll watch both.

For now i should add that the original is 720×576 (PAL). 320×240 would be great for web download (not streaming).

Yes! They each have a title screen, and that’s the part where it goes wrong, the rest of the movie plays back fine.

Only one of the four avi’s plays back fine, including the title screen.

All titles were indeed created in premiere pro.

I did it, but it comes out on DVD exactly as on the preview.

Thanks, i experimented some using techniques from this tutorial and the results improved somewhat, but not much.

When i export as mpeg-2 (.m2v), though, it looks great! Only problem is that mpeg-2 does not allow for After Effects…

I often have to export for web download. For my employer, filesize is of great importance and i am restricted to WMV format.

Using the Adobe Media Encoder, the option “Windows Media Video 8 for Broadband (PAL, 384 kbps)” gives me the best video quality / filesize ratio (it’s Europe here, so i use PAL).

It also only has to render once to export, while the WM8 or WM9 options all render TWICE, making them very timeconsuming.

I get a 20Mb file for an 8 minute movie.

If anybody knows an even better solution i’m all ears by the way!

The problem seems to be that i destined the same hard drive for capturing as the one i was editing on. Changed destination drive and problem was solved.

    Thanks!

I’ll just try and place my old soundcard into my new computer, see if it works. Thanks!

Hm, could be.. but on my previous system, everything worked fine. This was a 3 y/o computer, so probably with an even shittier soundcard (certainly nothing above the regular soundblaster of the day).

    Couldn’t it be anything else?
Or is there some way to test if the problem is indeed the soundcard, before i spend hundreds of Euros that i don’t have on something i might not even need…

Yeah, that’s what i’ve been doing as well. Until i got one project file so large and filled w/ nine short movies and nine trailers that things got a little out of hand & i separated the two :).

Oh well, a serious glitch in a otherwise great editing tool, i’ll live.

    Thanks again.
