I’ll add to the festive niceties 🙂
It may also be a perspective thing, such as when you’re filmping a stage from slightly off-center.
The ‘transform’ tool in the motion tab lets you skew the corners of your clip so as to make it appears straight again. This has worked for me sometimes :).
Screw it, let’s do it!

December 18, 2008 at 2:48 pm in reply to: FCP Removing Handy Cam look with out De-interlaceNo, it does record progressive. It may output a 50 fps interlaced signal, but since the two interlaced frames per second are created from one ‘whole’ (progressive) frame, the fields (the lines of which an interlaced picture consists) add up to one progressive frame 🙂
Does that make sense? 😉

I am using a JVC 15″ CRT monitor, so it’s a downconverted signal from my decklink to my SD crt monitor.
This downconversion might account for a slight color shift in viewing, but it does not explain why the colors of the video files itself change!
If i view a clip on the timeline on my monitor, and then i export it uncompressed, import that new clip back into FCP, and place it on the same timeline, my monitor shows a HUGE change in color from the original clip!
So, as i’m watching both on the same screen, it can’t be a monitor issue…

Thanks guys, that’s the confirmation I needed 😉

I’m sorry, but you’re welcome 😉

What kind of footage are you using and what are your sequence settings (file > easy setup)?
How did you render? And did you in fact deinterlace the footage? How?
Screw it, let’s do it!

When it gets out of sync, is the audio behind the video, or the other way around?
Is there a red or green render bar over the footage?
What are your timeline settings? Do they match the footage? If not, go to easy setup and change it, then create a new sequence, see if that fixes anything?

April 11, 2008 at 7:36 am in reply to: The simplest tasks cripple my octocore! Please help! And another strange thing that has happened several times now:
when i go to this page https://www.apple.com/nl/finalcutstudio/finalcutpro/
i get a strange kind of “echo” on my computer screen. So I’ll be moving my mouse cursor and really faint, ghostly second mouse cursor follows about 1 inch to the left. And the same goes for everything else on the screen; text, images etc. A watermark of all that is visible about 1 inch to the left.
It only happens on those apple product pages, and turning my monitor off and on again fixes it, but still.
Is there some kind of corrupt script on that page messing with my mac? Am i the only one? Am I doing something wrong? It really frustrates me to get this kind of unnecessary underperformance.
