So I finally made the switch to Final Cut Pro from Adobe Premiere and I need to figure out why in my playback window everything looks like it needs to be deinterlaced when I have it all rendered already.

    Any thoughts?

What kind of footage are you using and what are your sequence settings (file > easy setup)?

How did you render? And did you in fact deinterlace the footage? How?

    Screw it, let’s do it!

I shot the footage and digitized from 24p on my Panasonic DVX100B. I went ahead and lowered the RT quality from High to Low and that fixed things substantially but not completely. I did however decide to export a clip to my hard drive and play it through Quicktime just to see if it was my playback window lagging.

Apparently there are some issues running footage from an external to a Macbook Pro as far as playback goes because the exported clip played fine in Quicktime.
