    Hey all,

Premiere Pro slows down considerably the moment i turn on my camera – which is connected to my computer by firewire – in order to capture some stuff while editing other material.

This is most unwelcome, as i usually have to work under great time pressure.

Do i need to upgrade my memory, or is it something else???

    Thanks in advance,
    Marc.

Who knows, could be anything, Why don’t you describe your computer system, ammount of memory, processor, its speed, harddrive configuration, etc

The problem seems to be that i destined the same hard drive for capturing as the one i was editing on. Changed destination drive and problem was solved.

    Thanks!

You may also be experiencing slow-down in your on-screen display because when the firewire device is on, Premiere Pro may be outputting through Firewire. It lets the on-screen display refresh slow down to keep full speed motion going out over the firewire.
