yes, $6000 total. I was thinking of going for 1 TB storage, just using the mac’s internal harddrive docks (that’s SATA, right?).

But i’m getting the idea that for HD, that won’t be sufficient?

Thanks a lot guys, that’s some great food for thought.

About using tape or harddrive playback only, any recommendations for an affordable solution?

Oh and by the way more and more people are embedding youtube-ish movie clips in their powerpoints. So in that case a laptop has to be used.

To make sure it works, i’d have to go for a heave graphics card then.

    Thanks!

[ThomasLeong] “it can’t process video on dual outputs”

so would it help if i set the beamer as the primary screen instead of the secondary?

    Thanks!

Is there a rule of thumb for getting the best results? Surely if it’s such a common problem someone must have come up with some kind of best practice..?

Hi Blast1 & Pena, thanks for your help! Sorry about the late response, but i didn’t get the notification in my e-mail that there was a reaction…

But anyway, thanks a lot! The problem was indeed the Canopus codec. Found it out with a little help from G-Spot :-).

Turns out it was captured using a canopus card. We managed to change the codec and the problem was fixed!

December 23, 2006 at 9:28 am in reply to: different menus, continuous background music?

Wouldn’t it perhaps be possible to load a new visual layer containing the other menu over the one containing the background audio? perhaps even by using apha to make it “appear” ?

It could be a state of a button. But then, can a button contain a button? Encore DVD is no Flash of course…

I agree though, it still can be difficult to see everything clearly e.g. when working with small fonts.

One should be able to zoom in, within the titler.
Also, a grid option would be extremely handy.
