I have found that Cannon & Sony do not mix very well. You may be able to capture using a similar make / model.

That’s very encouraging Kim. I have, also, had another attempt at creating simple text in V8 titler. I felt there was too much power in one basket. I was creating a series of simple captions, trying to keep the attributes, size and position the same.
There must be a way to lock these things so that all captions have same attributes. As you say, I, also, await V8.0a

I did try using colour picker and transferring the values. Bit of a pain. As I am used to Power CG Plus, I am sticking to that for my current projects. Unfortunately, Power CG Plus does tend to freeze in V8, so I use V6. It’s not a big deal.I use outline+blur in wedding titles. I suppose that’s how do I it. For other work, I use drop shadow. I put up a comparision https://www.crestvideo.co.uk/v8/v8_titler_test.png
Incidently, my son came over and had a look at the titler. He got to grips with it in 5 minutes and thought Pro Titler was powerful.
Hope for me yet. -
Come to think of it, I don’t think I know of graphics package that can do this easily, but then again, what do I know?
Actually, it is quite common. Vegas text generator does allow you to pick colour off screen and allow to put blurred outlines on text.
So I guess, it’s an omission which may be fixed. I just use static titles for which I have been using a 3rd party titler by Cayman Graphics for about 7 years. It has served me well. -
That would be a shame since the new titler is very much worth learning.
Regards, Rick.
You are right about the titler. It just does not fit in, at the moment, in my work flow.
The way I do titles requires that I pick colours off the screen, add ‘outline’ to the text (Stroke ) and then apply blur to the outline.
I guess, these things may appear in future updates. -
I am on V6. I did not see any benefit for me to upgrade to V7 because V6 worked and worked and worked….without ant issues. Because I had some problems with V5 which needed sorting, I upgraded to V6 but did not use it until it was reported to be stable
I have some personal issues with V8 but I shall upgrade anyway. The discount is very good. Again I may have to use V6 for some things till the niggles are ironed out.
I find the new titler difficult to master, probably because I am used to different work flow. The cayman graphics titler is flacky with V8, so for now I may stick to V6 for titles.

September 27, 2007 at 10:12 am in reply to: Pro Titler – sliders have no value input box.Thank Grazie. After our very enlighning chat on Skype, I would modify my request.
Thanks for putting me right on my nomenclature.
I am not looking to blur the font edges. I would like to apply an outline to the font, stroke in this case, and then apply slight blur to the outline clolour ( Stroke colour). My thanks to Grazie for pointing out that there is a way to control the gradient fill. The control provided is dark blue on default black background. So I could not see it.
In light of above may I modify my requests.
1- Font size in points or pixels, as Wile_E says
2- Be able to pick Colour off screen
3- More visible colour for control bar for gradient fill ( white?)
4 – Ability to add blur outlines added to fonts ( or stroke in Pro 8 speak ).Thanks.
Regards
Mahesh

1- Font size in points or pixels, as Wile_E says
2- Be able to pick Colour off screen
3- Better control over gradient fill
4 – Ability to add blur to font edges – that is, add blur to stroke value.Otherwise it’s a titler with great possibilities.
