Hello, I’ve shot my footage with a Panasonic DVX-100a, in standard progressive mode (24p, 2-3 pulldown). When I view my rendered footage in 24p it looks great, but when I render/change it to 29.970fps some of the frames are blurred together. It’s almost like Vegas took two events, that are side by side on the timeline, and combined the edge frames of each event. I thought about interpolating the footage when I rendered but I didn’t know if that would degrage the footage.

    Any thoughts?

I’d really appreciate any help, whether it works or not.

Why are you rendering it out as 29.97?
You can do a print-to-tape or DVD from your 24p timeline.
The Sony 24p whitepaper (PDF format) has a lot of excellent information on doing this with this camera.

Boy, sometimes the answer’s right in front of your face and you just can’t see it. I’m an idiot. Thank you so much.

Welcome to the “not seeing the answer when it’s staring me in the face” club 🙂
We’ve all been there, done that – and anyone who hasn’t is a liar!!

‘Not seeing the wood for the trees’is the usual response from across the pond.

Thanks for the response. When you sit in a room hour after hour, day after day, you start to feel like an island in the middle of an ocean. It’s nice to see a ship.

    Thanks again.
