I have found that if I grab the selection with mouse pointer over first clip, then the order is preserved.

May 21, 2009 at 2:52 pm in reply to: Vegas 9 Pro “ErrorReportLauncher.exe”, apparently just launches errorsAfter upgrading XP to SP2, I am not getting any lockups.
What I did discover is that V8 is much nore efficient at rendering to MPEG2.
For me, render from SD to MPEG2 is regular work
I put 108 minutes of SD – PAL capture on timeline.
Render to MPEG2,
CBR, NTSC
on V8, it took 95 minutes = 0.9 x real time
on V9, it took 116 minutes = 1.06 x real time. For me, working in SD PAL, V8 is much more efficient than V9.

I thought it may be because I am XP SP2. In the process of upgrading to SP3.Regards

Deshaker works for me on V8 except
1 – It crashes if the project is set to 32 bit. I set it to 8 bit to deshake.
2- The script does not seem to find the panasonic coder. VD is fine with this.
So the script works fine in 8-bit mode with uncompressed codec. As far as using virutual Dub is concerned, when all else failed I read the very detailed explanation by John Mayer, A GUIDE TO USING DESHAKER. I think I downloaded the word doc together with the deshake zip file. I throughly recommend reading the guide before giving up.

Ctl+Shit+D to get back to full screen before you render.

Sorry, I did not make it clear the first time. As you say, PITA, but we quite often use it on locked-off cameras, where tape change in mid-performance would be impractical.
I suppose HD is the way to go. -
Douglas, I use large / small Sony cameras for acquisition. I have found that if I get a a tape recorded, in LP, in Cannon camera, I may have a problem tracking it in one of the Sony cameras. I very rarely accept a client’s tape for acquisition if its recorded in LP + Cannon. I can not prove my theory but I have found this to be case over last seven years. BTW, I am in PAL land.
