February 6, 2008 at 11:31 pm in reply to: Any suggestions on accomplishing this effect.Hi,
I guess Topher is right. I would create the presentation and fix the frame until the film is started. I have no idea how the CLICK is accomplished in Flash but I know it is possible. Obviously. Rotate the persons in 3D is a good idea.
But, bear in mind, it´s the whole presentation that makes the effect so worthy. The blue screen, the graphics. It´s never an effect alone.Best

Hi,
I used the glass effect in one of my commercials and it worked great. So keep on going on this.
What can be reflected? I think it should not only be stars. Think of large objects, like starclusters, galaxies, nebula and so on. When I worked for a well known company that produces Star Trek, we often used (with permission) original NASA images to enhance our “space”. Its not reality but its a “learned look”.
Try it

PS: Check out NASA pages to get the permission. Its easyThank you for reading this

I have looked at your film. Looks nice but not as a film. The movement is computerlike. Imagine if you could do this with a real 35mm. Make it slower, add flaws. A real camera is never as straight as a computer.
Thats the trick.

One of the reasons for a simulated cinema look is our “learned viewing”.
Let me tell one thing in front. I hope I remember it right from my times at the university. Forgive me if I tell some bulls….;-))If you look at single frame you don

Hi,
just want to help you a bit. I work with a JVC 110 HD camera. 720p. I export it from AVID Liquid 7.2 either as MPG or uncompressed AVI. And import it to AE.
Works fine, sometimes I use a Quicktime/JPG proxy. AE needs some time if you don -

Hi,
maybe I can clear up some things. Just to mention it, I worked for Paramount for 7 years as a Star Trek Consultant;-)) Here is a link to a pretty nice transporter effect witch is between TOS and Next Gen.
https://voir.mylenium.de/creation/ae_downloads/ae_down_particular.html
I used it myself for different projects. If you want to archive the ST movie (Original Crew) effect, play around with the audio and color effects. I did it some years ago and it looked well. If needed I look it up on archived CDs. Let me know.
The Klingon effect is different. But PLEASE – we are the good guys, stick to the Federation;-))
About the new DVDs, thank God that I don -

I can only agree to that. These two sites are great and it has improved my films a lot. But I still have a lot to learn. A while ago I bought most of Andrews DVDs and can only recommend it. Great stuff, can
