    Hi Dave,

    you helped more than you might have guessed. I did not know that the native HD codec is “acquisition only”. I cannot capture in a different way on my AVID Liquid machine.

    So what I have done is export it uncompressed to AE, work there and export it back to Liquid as MPG. If I go uncompressed to Liquid it starts to render there and that looks bad.
    So the only question that remains is, why is it possible to use the MPG output in AE but the program delivers such a bad result when going over 15 MBit/sec?

    Hi,

    if you work in PAL play around with upper and lower field settings and watch it on a TV monitor not a computer. Make sure all your settings are set to BEST and FULL in the render settings dialogue. Use the AVI Format and then MICROSOFT DV. Output should be as good as input. Or go uncompressed if you have the space and a fast machine.
