    Hello,

I hope that I am right in this section with my first post.

I searched the forum but cannot find an answer to my question.
I work with a JVC HD110 720/25p camera. NLE is AVID Liquid 7.2. I export MPG2 (native) from AVID to AE7.0, work there and export it back as an MPG2 file. But I cannot do anything above 11 MBit/sec. and this has still little artefacts.
Normal for this HDV is 19,7. As soon as I go beyond 15 in AE everything is heavily artefacted no matter what I adjust.

Does anyone has a good setting for the AE MPG2 output in HD?

    Would be great
    Thanks
    Lutz

    Hi Dave,

you helped more than you might have guessed. I did not know that the native HD codec is “acquisition only”. I cannot capture in a different way on my AVID Liquid machine.

So what I have done is export it uncompressed to AE, work there and export it back to Liquid as MPG. If I go uncompressed to Liquid it starts to render there and that looks bad.
So the only question that remains is, why is it possible to use the MPG output in AE but the program delivers such a bad result when going over 15 MBit/sec?

    Best

    Lutz

    Thank you for reading this

Most people render to the Animation codec or Uncompressed, then use a dedicated MPEG-2 compressor such as Compressor or Squeeze.
