Great history lesson, John. I believe that the name media100 should remain. It is also interesting to note that Boris Yaminski actually worked for Media 100 as you said in your article. I did get the version 1 diskette of Boris fx plug in for Media 100 when we got Media 100 version 1.2, the only plug in for Media 100!

There are actually a lot of 16 x 9 settings under the quicktime output in SW, still have to figure which is best to use.

    Thanks.
The seven minute piece at animation full rez came up with a 12+ gig file, quicktime DV/DVC Pro codec (the only one that can do 16 x 9 out from Media100 SW) gave a 1.25 gig file.
The thing is my client is concerned that if they use flash to do the convert to 16 x 9 they will be degrading the video. (??) I actually sat with them through the conversion of a small sample file today from Quicktime anamorphic to a 320 x —- 16 x 9 and it looked great!
    We will see.
    Thanks again.

    Hi Floh,
We are NTSC, 720 x 486 in AE widescreen with the clips interpreted as ntsc widescreen lower field first rendering to the Media100 720 codec in on the Media100HD system. Output module is set up for lower field first in AE.
    Thanks,

After dropping the clip on the graphics track in Media100, double click on it. In the edit suite click on “Motion Path” then click on “custom”. In the box which opens you can then re-position , scale, etc. the Juicer clip.
As before, you have to render out of Juicer with “millions of colours +” to create a graphic which can be supered in Media 100. Your experience might be different from mine using the media 100 codec. The cpu on which you have digital juice should also have the Media 100 or the codec installed.
    Hope this helps.

  • … the strange thing is when you render out of Juicer using the M100 codec media 100 crashes. I have done a search of the Cow and found where folks have recomended using the animation codec with alpha (millions colour +). This works for me with both Media100HD and 8.2.1. Drop imported animation onto the graphics track and its there (for M100 8.2.1 it has to be rendered).
