Thanks for all your responses it’s certainly interesting to think about how much something has to be changed before it is not stealing someone elses design/idea.

I’ve spoken to the clients solicitors today and they said we would be infringing copyright and they don’t fancy going to court with Parker bros.

I’ve sent an email to the animator telling him to adjust the look. I know he’s not gonna be happy as he’s put in a few days.

I might just send Parker bros an email, you never know.

    thanks again

It took me a year before i bought an EX3 as i was mulling over the archive conundrum. I looked at all the archive options and found i would be spending more time dumping footage onto discs than i really wanted with most options. Finally i decided on LTO4 which so far seems to be very good value with an easy workflow. With LTO4 the tapes are 800GB and can be set up to automatically backup my entire edit or i can just drag and drop.

    1 x 50gb xdcam disc = £45

    1x 800gb LTO4 tape = £30

Finding it all quite stressful with the Transcend cards. I’m using 16gb class 6 and am getting constant media errors. Back in the office testing everything and its solid with SxS but isnt liking the Transcend cards at all. I am very keen to save a few pounds (pal land) but cant cope with the uncertainty while shooting.

I’m not sure if the colours make any difference at all but mine are 16gb red.

    cheers

I’m using 4 Transcend SDHC 16gb class 6 cards with and MxR expresscard/34 Reader all bought from a reputable company in the UK.

When i first got the cards i tested as suggested by recording through to end and got no errors. Its only when i started doing shorter shots this came up.

    cheers

    1x xdcam deck, pdw -U1 = £2500.

    1x xdcam disc , 23gb = £17

    1 x lto4 deck £1400

    1 x lto4 800gb tape £40

These are approximate uk prices and i’m sure you could find cheaper.

I was looking at getting some sort of base plate the other week and came across this company. Might have something suitable for you.

I dont think you’re in the right forum but I’ve always used Belle nuit subtitler and found it a great programme to use.

The footage was shot anamorphic, placed in an anamorphic sequence and marked as anamorphic.

Not sure you’re understanding what i’m saying but thanks anyway.
