Pretty cool and simple effect to do…It goes well with the demon face tutorial.
Thanks! This demo is also a great intro for beginners when it comes to understanding the “fractal noise”

That’s sooo cool! I am doing the same thing too…It will be easier if you do each planet in a separate video then link them together in final cut or something

It worked! Thanks!

Interesting that answers my question…
Thanks!
Thought one can view the effect pre to being used like a plug in.
I just created a template so the riot gear loads every time a new project is created.
Anyone get the sound effects package? Is it any good?

Really cool tutorial. A bit complex with the reverse %s and pick whipping, especially when transitioning from Final Cut Pro.
Couldn’t find the “alt” key on my Mac. If when doing the precomp you choose to open up comp in new window non of the pick whipping you do will apply to the video so you really must hit the “alt” key…Humm. I wonder why? anyone know?
Can’t remember the last time I used Final Cut. After seeing what one can do with After Affects. After experimenting with it, there’s no turning back: “Real Time Editing”, no wait for render till finished.

But it seems on my Mac running 10.4, if I wanted to get the video to load and save in quicktime enclosed with all the illusions in it’s original size it was imported in the only solution was that application.
Will try what you suggest when I get home and see what happens…
All in all, the pIRender did what the red button was supposed to do all at one click.
It would be cool if there was a Stargate Transporter tutorial here too

Never mind, got it to work! Didn’t realize there was a pllusion render application that had to be used with the the file you create your effects with once you finished with the project.
Thought it was all in one application.
Thanks for the “too tour”

Thanks for the tutorial. Here’s my first saber attempt. 100 hours later.I didn’t use the motion blur for that same reason.
Instead of setting the key frames one frame at a time doesn’t Affter Effects 7.0 have a feature similar to one in motion 3.0 called track motion? Even though it took forever the end result is rewarding.
Off to particle illusions…..

It worked…..For some reason I spent like 3 hours clicking and clicking and clicking and got nothing till the point of no return.
They should make it one click…
Thanks! I would have never figured that out
